About This Site

The structure of this site is now completely finished. There are some areas of the site where further content needs to be added, but that is always an ongoing process and never completely done. Please let me know if you spot any inofrmation which needs to be updated.

For those of you who are more technically-minded, the site is almost entirely content-managed via PHP and a back-end MySQL database. The site was written using DreamWeaver and the enginSite PHP Editor. Photos and graphics were created/modified using Corel PhotoPaint 12. The site is hosted on a Supanames Apache WebServer running MySQL 4.1.20 and PHP 5. The site is written entirely in PHP which in turn interrogates the MySQL database and then writes the HTML you see here.

The Administrative area of the site permits those with access to change and update those areas of the site that change from time to time, without having to make any changes to the structure of the site as such. If you are a member of the GMP Christian Police Association and would be willing to assist in keeping the site fully up-to-date then please get in touch.

Above all, please register on the site and login when you use it, especially if you are a member of the Manchester CPA. Logging in each time you use the site gives us some idea what parts of the site are popular and which less so. It also gives you access to the Members-only area and the GMCPA Discussion Forums.

If you spot anything that is not working as you think it should, then please let me know!!!. I am always open to suggestions for how the site can be improved or expanded. The Lord provides the inspiration for the site but the mistakes are all mine despite His best efforts... :)

One other word of caution: If you are viewing this site with Internet Explorer 5.5 or an even earlier version, the main panel of some of the pages will not display properly for you. There is something in the CSS Stylesheet I am using that IE 5.5 objects to and I am working to find out what it is, but thus far without success (Any CSS gurus who happen to drop by, I'd be most grateful for your assistance on this!!!!!)
